In the little church where I grew up, we experienced very little teaching concerning the Holy Spirit. After two decades away from the church, I came back into a setting that recognizes and honors the work and Person of the Holy Spirit.
I have noticed though that we often focus on the Gifts of the Spirit which are clearly articulated in I Corinthians chapter 12. To a somewhat lesser degree, we teach on the Fruit of the Spirit as brought out in Galatians 5 verses 22 & 23. Both of those teachings, the Gifts and the Fruit of the Spirit are biblical, right and proper.
I am sensing though that we are entering into a revival of the Presence of God. In large part, the Holy Spirit is God’s representative agent in the earth. If we seek after and welcome the Presence of the Holy Spirit, He will usher us into the Presence of God and the Gifts and the Fruit of the Spirit will all be close at hand.
Speaking of the Holy Spirit Jesus said in John 14:16, “And I will pray the Father and He shall give you another comforter, that He may abide with you forever”.
If you are a believer, a Christian, recognize the abiding Presence of the Holy Spirit with you. If you are not a believer, simply recognize by faith that Jesus is God’s Son who gave His life for you. Give your life to Him and ask Him to fill your heart with the Presence of His Holy Spirit.
